Injustice covers a vast spectrum of situations and circumstances. The word alone conjures up the ugliest pictures in our minds, a testament to the reality many are forced to endure for days, weeks, years.
Abuse, oppression, entrapment, shackles, slavery, bondage, robbery, threats, terror, fear, betrayal, beatings, murder, wrongful imprisonment, exploitation.
God hates it. The world is rife with it. Only those who stand against it will ever see its demise.
Chapter 61 Ministries, a 501 (c)3, tax-deductable, organization, has taken a stand against injustice based on the purpose, plan and vision of God for people who have been hurt by it as set out in Scripture in Isaiah 61:
The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. Isaiah 61:1-4
Vision
Our vision, therefore, is to see people who have been enslaved, abused, molested or oppressed healed, empowered and becoming who God made them to be.
Mission
To see this happen, our mission is to combat the exploitation of human beings worldwide through participating in rescue and restoration and by promoting community awareness and engagement. To achieve our mission, we’ll plan and implement a number of initiatives each year, partnering with others of like mind and purpose.
